Local Kumon Instructor Taya Savage from the Kingswood Study Centre will be hosting a special community reading event on the 9th of March at The Kingswood Foundation – Creative Youth Network. The event will run from 11am to 2pm and your family is invited!

The event is being held in celebration of World Book Day, taking place this year on 7 March. World Book Day is a global celebration of authors, reading and books; a dedicated day each year when children throughout the world share the joys of picking up a book and losing themselves in the tales of their favourite characters.

Taya is particularly passionate about celebrating this event as she aims to nurture a life-long habit of reading for education and enjoyment in each of her students. Reading skills are critical for children’s development, and consecutive studies have shown a link between competency in reading and overall attainment.

The Time To Read Together event is a fun opportunity for you to join local families in reading magical tales, sharing favourite stories and enjoying the wealth of benefits that come from reading a book. The event includes story-telling, activities and a fancy dress competition. The event includes story-telling, activities and a fancy dress competition. If your child/children would like to come along dressed up as their favourite storybook character, the best costume will win a prize.

Taya is delighted to be hosting this special community event. To book a place for your family at this event or to find out more about the Kumon English Programme, contact Taya Savage on 01454 806410 or email at kingswood@kumoncentre.co.uk.
